The Public Relations (PR) Committee is primarily responsible for promoting Fauquier BPW, its
activities, its members and national BPW issues to media outlets, local businesses
and community organizations, government representatives, current FBPW members,
prospective new members, other Virginia BPW organizations, and the general public. It
also oversees the Fauquier BPW Web site.
The PR Committee activities include: writing and distributing press releases; contributing
articles to the Fauquier BPW, BPW/VA Western Region and BPW/VA State newsletters;
designing and writing brochures, posters/flyers, promotional material, Web site
copy, forms, and more; and, promoting BPW events such as the Annual Tea and
Business Women of the Year dinner.
The PR Committee looks for opportunities to fulfill its mission and presents them
to the membership. These opportunities have included co-sponsoring a Candidate
Forum, having a booth at a Women's Health Fair and the Warrenton Spring Festival,
and taking advantage of "free promo" airtime at a local radio station. Contact the
